Venue: The Retreat New Forest, Lyndhurst Road, Hinton
Your chance to experience a soothing " Gong Therapy Bath" for your dog and for yourself. Sharing in the healing experience. Sound therapy can help with pain issues, locked in trauma, behaviourial issues and stress or just add to both of your wellbeing and quality of life.So how does it help? Scientific studies show how sound therapy oxygenates cells and reduces inflammation. Inflammation in the body can be caused by old traumas, recent distress, chronic stress, injury, arthritis and other canine and human conditions. This is why it is so beneficial for both dog and human.
We shall start by easing our dogs into the session with a self-selection of essential oils to activate their sense of smell. Nicky will demonstrate a basic massage to calm our dogs into the space. Scania will then lead us into a soothing journey with sound therapy and we shall finish with a brief meditation (time allowing).
GUIDELINES FOR BRINGING YOUR DOG
The venue is dog friendly to well socialised, quiet dogs and dogs who are public place toilet trained. If your dog struggles in group settings or public places to remain calm, quiet and friendly with humans and other dogs; then you may need some help beforehand to acclimatise your dog to these surroundings.
Nicky offers an 8 point program to helping your dog attend group settings. We would not want to bring a dog to a setting that could potentially make them feel worse or one where they are feeling restless, frustrated and unable to settle. A little practice work beforehand could make all the difference.
For those who are thinking « my dog would never settle » You do not need to bring your dog as you can come along to experience and learn the benefits to then take home to your dog. And we will show you how.
Contact Nicky to let her know if you are bringing your dog so that we help accommodate and bring the pack together.
Contact Scania if you want more info around the gong or for 1-1 sessions for yourself or for your dog . email@example.com
WHEN YOU ARRIVE
Arrive 15 minutes early for a prompt start at 11am and allow your dog time to settle. A walk around the perimenter of the room and a doggie sniff with each other and play out in the beautiful grounds usually helps dogs to settle quicker. Bring something comfy to lay on for both you and your dog, perhaps a yoga mat (double up if you get cold), pillow, blanket for your dog as well as you and water. A brief explanation of what will happen will take place.
